आगरालीक्स…….. दीपोत्सव आपके जीवन में खुशियों का उजाला लेकर आए। दरअसल, कार्तिक मास की अमावस्या के दिन दीपावली मनाई जाती है। इस पर्व के साथ पांच पर्व जुड़े हुए हैं। सभी पर्वों के साथ दंत-कथाएं जुड़ी हुई हैं। दीपावली का त्योहार दिवाली से दो दिन पूर्व आरम्भ होकर दो दिन पश्चात समाप्त होता है।
दीपावली का शुभारंभ कार्तिक मास की कृष्ण पक्ष त्रयोदशी के दिन से होता है। इसे धनतेरस कहा जाता है। दूसरे दिन चतुर्दशी को नरक-चौदस मनाया जाता है। इसे छोटी दीपावली भी कहा जाता है। इस दिन एक पुराने दीपक में सरसों का तेल व पाँच अन्न के दाने डाल कर इसे घर की नाली ओर जलाकर रखा जाता है। यह दीपक यम दीपक कहलाता है।
एक अन्य दंत-कथा के अनुसार भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने इसी दिन नरकासुर राक्षस का वध कर उसके कारागार से 16,000 कन्याओं को मुक्त कराया था।
तीसरे दिन अमावस्या को दीपावली का त्योहार पूरे भारतवर्ष के अतिरिक्त विश्वभर में बसे भारतीय हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाते हैं। इस दिन देवी लक्ष्मी व गणेश की पूजा की जाती है। यह भिन्न-भिन्न स्थानों पर विभिन्न तरीकों से मनाया जाता है।
दीपावली के पश्चात अन्नकूट मनाया जाता है। यह दीपावली की श्रृंखला में चौथा उत्सव होता है। लोग इस दिन विभिन्न प्रकार के व्यंजन बनाकर गोवर्धन की पूजा करते हैं।
शुक्ल द्वितीया को भाई-दूज या भैयादूज का त्योहार मनाया जाता है। मान्यता है कि यदि इस दिन भाई और बहन यमुना में स्नान करें तो यमराज निकट नहीं फटकता।

राम भक्तों के अनुसार दीपावली वाले दिन अयोध्या के राजा राम लंका के अत्याचारी राजा रावण का वध कर के अयोध्या लौटे थे। उनके लौटने कि खुशी यह पर्व मनाया जाने लगा।

कृष्ण भक्तों की मान्यता है कि इस दिन भगवान श्री कृण्ण ने अत्याचारी राजा नरकासुर का वध किया था। इस नृशंस राक्षस के वध से जनता में अपार हर्ष फैल गया और लोगों ने प्रसन्नतापूर्वक घी के दीये जलाए।

एक पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार विंष्णु ने नरसिंह रुप धारणकर हिरण्यकश्यप का वध किया था तथा इसी दिन समुद्रमंथन के पश्चात देवी लक्ष्मी व भगवान धन्वंतरि प्रकट हुए।

जैन मतावलंबियों के अनुसार चौबीसवें तीर्थंकर महावीर स्वामी का निर्वाण दिवस भी दीपावली को ही हुआ था।

बौद्ध धर्म के प्रवर्तक गौतम बुद्ध के अनुयायियों ने 2500 वर्ष पूर्व गौतम बुद्ध के स्वागत में लाखों दीप जला कर दीपावली मनाई थी। दीपावली मनाने के कारण कुछ भी रहे हों परंतु यह निश्चित है कि यह वस्तुत: दीपोत्सव है।
