के मशहूर मैसाचुसेट्स इंस्टीट्यूट आफ टेक्नोलॉजी (एमआइटी) अमेरिका में कानपुर के बेटे आयुष शर्मा ने अपनी जगह बनाई है। अमेरिका के इस प्रतिष्ठित इंस्टीट्यूट में उनका चयन बीटेक प्रोग्राम के लिए हुआ है। इस इंस्टीट्यूट में प्रवेश के साथ उन्हें 1.6 करोड़ रुपए की स्कॉलरशिप भी मिली है। आयुष के पिता राकेश कुमार पीडब्ल्यूडी में मैकेनिक के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। एमआइटी के लिए देश भर से तीन छात्रों का चयन किया गया है।
आइआइटी केंद्रीय विद्यालय से आयुष ने इस साल 12वीं की परीक्षा दी है। वह अपनी इस सफलता का श्रेय अपने माता पिता के अलावा उन आइआइटियंस को देते हैं जिन्होंने उनकी प्रतिभा को पहचानकर उसे तराशा। आयुष ने बताया कि 11वीं कक्षा से उन्हें आइआइटी के पूर्व छात्रों का मार्गदर्शन मिलने लगा था। आइआइटी के इन छात्रों की ओर से संचालित ‘अवंती’ अध्ययन केंद्र में उन्होंने न केवल एमआइटी की तैयारी की बल्कि उन्हें पहली बार यहीं से विदेश जाने का मौका भी मिला। इस अध्ययन केंद्र के प्रोग्राम मैनेजर टेलर जॉर्ज ने उन्हें येल यूनिवर्सिटी के एक प्रोग्राम में भाग लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया। इस प्रोग्राम के लिए उनका चयन हुआ और उन्हें 15 दिन के लिए सेमिनार में भाग लेने के लिए आमंत्रित किया गया। वहां जाने का खर्च इसी अध्ययन केंद्र के जरिए पूरा हो सका। आयुष के पिता राकेश कुमार शर्मा ने बताया कि अगर उनके बेटे को अवंती के प्रोग्राम मैनेजर व यहां पर पढ़ाने वाले आइआइटी के पुरातन छात्रों का साथ न मिलता तो यह सपना पूरा नहीं होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि एमआइटी में दाखिले के लिए उनके बेटे ने इंटरनेशनल स्टैंडर्ड टेस्ट आफ इंग्लिश लैंग्वेज प्रोफिसिएंसी (टीओईएफएल) का आनलाइन टेस्ट दिया था जिसमें उनका चयन हुआ। सीआरपीएफ में कार्यरत आयुष की मां मंजूलता शर्मा ने अपने बेटे को ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचाने के लिए वीआरएस ले लिया। आयुष के बाद अब वह अपने दूसरे बेटे की पढ़ाई पर ध्यान पर दे रही हैं। आयुष दसवीं में भी केंद्रीय विद्यालय में टॉपर रह चुके हैं वह सितंबर में अमेरिका जाएंगे।
